MIT Scientists Identify Intelectin-2 Protein as Critical Defender of the Gut Barrier
Researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology have discovered that a protein called intelectin-2 plays a dual role in protecting the gastrointestinal tract. The protein reinforces the gut's mucus layer and actively traps harmful bacteria, including those resistant to traditional antibiotics.
